From Australia to London…

Born and bred on Australia’s Gold Coast, Chelsea has always dreamt of bringing the tasty “Aussie style” brunch culture to London through simple quality food, speciality coffee and a warm welcome.

From humble beginnings, the journey first started in Chelsea’s kitchen, where she baked her banana bread for local cafes and delivered them on her bicycle.

In May 2017, Chelsea opened the first branch of District in her local neighbourhood of Parsons Green. A second District site in Nine Elms followed shortly after in November 2017. The design and interiors of the cafes are inspired by the beach, filled with natural light and are laid out with a clean and minimalistic feel. Our easy going, friendly service and uncomplicated, wholesome food creates a laid-back environment for each neighbourhood that our Districts are based in. We care about our communities and prioritise local suppliers, who use select ingredients and work consciously for our environment, and have a monthly rotation of guest roasters to keep our offering every-changing.

 

We support a sustainable food and drink industry in the UK and minimise wastage wherever possible. We’re currently in the process of going carbon neutral and will soon be B Corp certified!
